Below, a roundup of things I wore repeatedly, wished for passionately, and Googled way too much this month. There’s no paywall on this one, so the whole thing is free for all subscribers to read.
The outfit I hyper-fixated on…
The weather was all over the place in New York this month, but on warmer days, I pretty much lived in some variation of this outfit. It’s derived from one of my go-to templates for getting dressed when I want to be extremely comfortable but still look a little interesting: gym shorts + non-gym-shirt (i.e. blouse or button down) + fun sneakers.
The individual item I wore the most…
When I look at the birds-eye view of my documented outfit snippets from this month, my red pointelle pants from Donni (currently sold out in red, but worth putting yourself on the waitlist if you’re interested since that’s how I got mine) are a clear standout in terms of frequency. I had a feeling that would be the case when I bought them over the winter, since this particular shade of red has become such an important staple of my wardrobe, and I don’t have many pants that still fit me at this stage of pregnancy—much less fun/colorful ones. I do wish the legs were cut a little more narrowly, but I think that has more to do with my individual proportions than the pants themselves. Other frequently-worn pieces of the month include: both pairs of my Nike Cortez sneakers (I have them in red and yellow), my brown Adidas SL 72 sneakers, this Lizzie Fortunato necklace (for a similar vibe, I love the idea of this vintage pendant strung on some black silk cord), my black Modern Citizen Paula pants, and the men’s striped Entireworld T-shirts I bought secondhand on Grailed last year (if you’re in the market for something similar, look at this one and this one). Thematically, it’s all very comfort-and-ease-oriented, which makes sense given the nature of my typical day-to-day right now (toddler wrangling —> work from home —> toddler wrangling) and physical state (pubic symphysis dysfunction hive rise up 🤟🏼).
What earned a place on my wishlist…
Two things, actually—both of which I ended up buying (paid subs who read this column regularly know that’s not always the case, but the wishlist was especially seductive this month)…
A vintage oversized charcoal hand study, from a home decor store in my neighborhood called Mecox Gardens that sells a mix of contemporary pieces and antiques.
A 100% silk vintage Ralph Lauren leopard mini dress (for $35!!!), from an Etsy shop called TRILLPALACE (from their remaining inventory I also love this very Dragon Diffusion-esque vintage leather bag and this 100% silk butter yellow tank). I’ll need to wait until I’m thoroughly un-pregnant to try on the dress, but it felt like a risk worth taking.
What I’m passionately recommending…

Trying out the search term “vintage Cacharel” across your favorite resale websites. Secondhand finds from this iconic French brand are particularly relevant to the upcoming season, whether you’re literally plotting the contents of your suitcase for a summer vacation or just want to feel like you are.
What I spent way too much time looking for on the internet…

A pair of small ottomans for my living room, and subsequently, tips on how to stuff the slipcovers I ultimately bought. I want to use a natural filling, so I ended up ordering a 50-pound box of buckwheat hulls online (lol). I used this website to calculate exactly how many pounds I would need based on the dimensions of the slipcovers. The hulls haven’t arrived yet, but I remain committed to the delusion that this will be a tidy, dignified process.
See you all next week for my last (!!) pre-maternity leave newsletter, which will include a style and shopping AMA and a few housekeeping notes for while I’m away.
