By the time I reached the reading recommendations, I already felt like I’d hit the jackpot. I had this caption brewing: when people who share my fashion taste also share their reading recommendations, I get even more excited than I do about their styling tips. And then, as I kept scrolling, the list unfolded with insights I didn’t even know I needed. Each row brought something better than the last. Now I’m obsessively thinking: I need to save this, I need to write this down, I need to share this forward. Thank you, Harling, for this incredible newsletter. Happy New Year! 🤗
I’m here to second the rec for The Consistency Project — I bought jeans there about a year postpartum and it was so lovely to have the staff there help me find pants that fit my new size / shape / sense of me.
I LOVE lighting beeswax tapers in the summer when I read on my covered porch and love the cozy vibe they also add in the cooler months.
For anyone who had a negative experience giving tretinoin a go, consider getting a prescription for Altreno! It’s so easy to spread and a less irritating formulation.
What a great list! Seconding the candlelight rec. I recently moved to Denmark and the winter darkness has been hard to get used to, but candles changed everything! I light them when the sun goes down (3 pm….) and have them on even when I’m just watching tv, reading, doing crosswords, etc… We get a value sized container from the grocery store every few weeks lol
Isn’t it just the best!? My husband and I are the candlelight family mentioned and there is something so innately peaceful and calming to reading/cooking/drinking tea/doing anything at all near candlelight. 🕯️
Harling, I was casually reading through your list when I was shocked to see Au Fait mentioned! I am absolutely thrilled one of your readers recommended us. We are relaunching our weekly newsletter this month, so the timing couldn't be better. <3 Thank you for including us!
Everything I've tried from Soft Services has keep top tier, I especially love the gel-textured body lotion because I know a lot of people have some ick for heavier body lotion feel or slow absorption. I'm wondering if they'll do a deodorant in a cool packaging.
Huge on Somebody Somewhere!! My jaw dropped when I recognized that I’d finished the last episode 💔 such a comforting and warm show that carried me through difficult periods! ❤️
The person who started doing ballet at 52 is me lol! Still loving it and I just moved up a level 🩰
That's so inspiring! I'm putting it on my list!
Yay!
An exceptionally generous and wonderful post, thank you!!

The Moccamaster is life 😍 Would add the Aarke carbonator if you like sparkling water haha
Yes I have both and strongly agree - Genuinely amazing products that look good on the countertop too!

Seconding on the Moccamaster coffee maker and the dumbells -- both which we've had for like 8+ years!
I second hydrafacials! Next to none 🥰
I read I Who Have Never Known Men in November and have not stopped thinking about it! Fantastic work of art, I second the rec here!
