So refreshing to see sources, people, and ideas you don’t read about in every other Substack. This is jewelry content I will actually use! Thank you Harling and Veronica for an outstanding post that really feels like it’s written for its audience, and not just for the affiliate links.
This was such an interesting read, and I loved your tips and suggestions for finding vintage pieces. I’m a big fan of costume jewelry, especially brutalist and 1950s copper, and have found all of it secondhand in local shops. 💕
In addition to the big shows, I would also recommend that people look in their areas for vintage fairs, where you see a variety of different vendors, including many jewellery sellers.
What an awesome interview, thank you! I learned so much! Thank you for the Etsy recommendations and I just purchased the ultrasonic cleaner you linked - I've been wanting one but didn't know which to get. Also, heart eyes emoji for that Vintage Givenchy watch <33
Loved this piece, I feel energised to add to my small collection! Veronica, could you give an example of how you wear your brooches? They are something I've always neglected.
If there are any readers in Ireland or Europe, could you recommend somewhere to get a complex beaded necklace restrung?
So happy to hear! I've been pinning them on everything—my winter coat, hats, scarves, knits, several at a time on blazers and coats. They're the perfect little touch of personality. The small Bakelite brooches are great for adding some color. Come summer I’ll likely continue with silk scarves (careful of the weight of the pin you select here) and experiment with other fabrics.
Dear Harling, this newsletter made me take a two- to three-hour break on a Friday, but it led me to the most beautiful vintage brooch—a tailor’s scissors design. Imagine my joy! As always, thank you!
TEFAF the Winter Show both held at the Park Ave Armory are great opportunities to get up close and personal! The Winter Show is antique focused while TEFAF is a contemporary art fair that also features several incredible jewelry makers such as Hemmerle…

Love this! Obsessed with her jewelry box!! Have been on the hunt - does anyone know where it might be from?!
Hi! So glad you enjoyed! The jewelry box I bought from an Etsy seller recently...https://www.etsy.com/shop/NumidiaCollection
I hear good things about the jewelry boxes from Trove and Broken English. Sophie Bille Brahe is another - I have a tresor from their line.
Yes was just about to ask about tips for storing jewelry and the best jewelry box that looks chic but keeps everything organized!
Came here to say the same thing!

Loved this especially the recommendations for repair!
Same! Does anyone have any recommendations for repair in LA?
I’ve had repairs done at E. Eichberg and liked them!
Loved this so much!
